Our Philosophy
Our primary goal is to create a warm, caring environment that nurtures your child's feelings of self-worth.  Our staff provides a wide range of experiences in order to stimulate the child's interest in the world.  We provide a variety of learning experiences through play as well as the curriculum that is designed to promote social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.

We respect each child as an individual with unique qualities of personality, intelligence and creativity.  Our staff has set up an environment that is clean, fun, creative and "child-centered" to give your child the opportunity to learn and grow as an individual with a strong sense of self-worth and well being.

We feel an open line of communication between the Center and its staff and our parents is very important in providing the best possible care and overall rewarding experience for you and your child.

Holidays
The Center will be closed on National Holidays.  The Center is closed on the following holidays (please see the school calendar for exact dates):

  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
  • Week between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Observed Birthday
  • President's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • 4th of July

Nut-Free Center
We have banned all nuts, nut products or food containing nuts due to children with severe allergies.

Biting Policy
The preschool program (~ 2 years 9 months and older) has a no tolerance biting policy. By the time a child is of preschool age, they have the tools to communicate through words, in which biting is an unacceptable form of communication.  For the safety of all the children, repeat biters will be sent home.  Children who have bitten a child for the first time will receive a warning.  The next time the child bites they will be sent home for the remainder of the day.

Withdrawal Policy
If you choose to withdraw your child from our program, CCC requires 30-days written notice.  Withdrawals are accepted in writing by the Director.  If you choose to withdraw your child for an extended vacation, you will need to re-register your child and your child will be placed on our waiting list.

Emergency Procedures
In the event of a fire or major disaster, such as a destructive earthquake, we would like to assure parents that we have a Site Emergency Plan in effect.

If it is determined that we must evacuate the Center's site, then the new site will be posted at CCC.  Staff members will remain at ALL TIMES with the children until the children are picked up.  Designated staff will remain on school grounds until 12 noon the following day.  At which time, the Transportation Team will take any remaining children to the closest Emergency Disaster Site.  CCC has an emergency supply of water, freeze-dried food and infant formula that will meet he needs of the Center for 72 hours.  CCC's emergency number is (650) 493-9505.
